why i am making this

I decided to create a glow in the dark bikini for a few reasons. I believe that having a product like this on the market would actually be useful. i think that making this bikini will enhance many affairs. I can just imagine celebrities or upper class teenages wearing ths product t omake themselves stand out in a crowd. Most of all my piece is more coneptual. I would like to see what people would say or how they would act toward a girl wearing a glowing bikini. Would there be more postive or negative reactions? Why would somebody chose to wear something that makes them stand out more than anyone else?. I have asked myself and many poeple questions like these two. Mostly, the reactiosn i had were positive. A lot of people wanted to see what it would look like finished and to see it in situation. People were interested in seeing how they themselves would react if they saw a girl come to a pool party in a GLOWkini. someone who i asked these questions to commented that he thought GLOWkini would be very marketable to young women.

I'm very excited to see how it comes out and see the reaction it gets in a public enviornment

ok so i just got back from fabric shopping. well well well i think i have come close to entering every fabric store on 38, 39 and 40th st and some other ones along the way. i either got laughed at, or people didnt know what i was talking about. except this 1 store which i am testing the fabric to see if it actually glows ... i think i might. but iwther way its not a very nice fabric, but if it glows i think it will be my best option. unless i use luminex. which is not back in my mind, just because i think it might be cool to work with, but i can't get in to see it till monday afternoon. I have a pattern, so thats not a problem. and i think its a nice pattern. for luminex or for any other fabric.

i went to zuzka this morning and i figured tht luminex is an awesome fabric, but not really what i'm looking for. i have searched the interent for glow in the dark dyes and i found a paint that glows in the dark. i can get it in any color. i just need to find where tp get it . Although it would be nice to make my own bikini i dont think that it is necessary for this project. ther is still a chance i might make one, but fo now that idea is on hold.

I just spoke to Zuzka on the phone and i have an appointment to see the fabrics on monday Nov. 7 at 10am so next week i will be able to talk about the fabric I will be using more specifically.

I looked at some of janet hanson's work www.enlighted.com. its realy inteesting,but its not really the look i'm going for. I'm going for more of a sleek glowing look rather than a bikini with lights in it. something that can be considereed simle and elegant. not very flashy

I also am researching different fabrics. i have to go into zuzka on monday to look around at see anything that interests me. right now i'm not sure about the luminex fabric but i'm thinking about more of a glow in the dark type look. hatever i will see

my bikini project

so i was having dinner with a group of my friends this week (i thinnk tuesday night) and i everyone was talking about school and midterms and feaking out. So when it was my turn to vent about all my stressful classes i started talking about my luminous bikini project. not becasue it is steressful, but its fun to see my friens be jealous that i have fun homework and they have to sit and study and take tests for many boring hours. not to say that my project isn't harder than studying for a test (i think it is). anyways u told them about it and i now have a model and many friends to come out with me to the beach in december and pretend like they arent freezing (that's love). after they all finished making fun of the project, they had some really good questions about it. and so now this is what i have to think about. and for the most part they were all really excited about it.
1, why would some1 like to draw that much attention to themselves.
2. will it be waterproof, usuable for daytime beach fun as well as night time.
3. will it be see through
